How to take a pickup: “I’ll do it”

Open the pickup and tap I’ll do it, or tap I’ll do it on the notification without opening the app. For a repeating pickup, choose Just this one, This and the ones after or Every one. Your name goes on it and the rest of the family is told.

Where to find it

  1. Open the pickup
  2. I’ll do it

Who can do this

Anyone in the family: parents, grandparents and sitters, at every level.

Step by step

  1. Open the pickup from Home, the Calendar or Events.

  2. Tap I’ll do it. If you were asked by name, tap Accept on the “You’ve been asked to do this one” card.

  3. For a repeating pickup, choose Just this one, This and the ones after or Every one.

  4. From the notification: press and hold it (or swipe it down) and tap I’ll do it. A notification confirms “You’ve got it”.

What happens next

  • The family gets “Covered: Grandma is doing the pickup for Lily on Thu at 3:15 PM.”
  • You get a reminder before it, at the times set on the pickup.

Good to know

  • If two people tap at once, only one gets it. The other sees who got there first.
  • The notification button takes one day. To take every day of a series, use the app.
  • Days added to a never-ending series later arrive open, so they’re never yours without you saying so.
