What happens to your Maple account
Maple’s home page says it “has been acquired by Wander and will sunset on December 31, 2026”, and that accounts stay active until then. After that, Maple says, all data is deleted, including its connections to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and TeamSnap. Annual Maple+ subscriptions won’t renew. Maple “highly recommends” exporting or transferring your data before then: once it shuts down, there’s no way to recover it.
Replacing each part of Maple
| Maple did | Closest replacements |
|---|---|
| Shared family calendar | Cozi, TimeTree, FamilyWall, Google or Apple Calendar, Kid Pickup |
| Turning family emails into events and tasks | Skylight Calendar Plus (Sidekick: forward school emails); Cozi Max (AI event import); Kid Pickup reads a pasted email, a photo or a PDF of a schedule |
| Meal planning and recipes | Cozi Max, Skylight Calendar Plus, FamilyWall Premium |
| Chores | Skylight, Cozi lists, FamilyWall |
| TeamSnap and team schedules | Kid Pickup follows a TeamSnap, GameChanger or school calendar link and keeps it in step; most calendars can subscribe to the same link |
| Splitting the mental load | Kid Pickup gives each pickup and drop-off one person who said yes, with a nudge when nobody has; try our default parent quiz |
Moving your calendar
If Maple was synced with Google, Apple or Outlook, your events may already be in that calendar: check before you export. A calendar file (.ics) can be imported into most apps on this list, Kid Pickup included, which turns each event into a pickup you can put a name on.
If you’re choosing now
Pick by the part of Maple you used most. If it was meals and lists, Cozi is the closest single app. If it was the family calendar and school emails, Skylight. If it was keeping track of who’s driving to what, Kid Pickup. Two weeks free on any Kid Pickup plan.
