KidPickUp ("KidPickUp," "we," "our," or "us") is a family pickup and drop-off coordination service operated by Think X Design Media, a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you when you use our mobile application and related services (together, the "Service").
The Service is offered to users in Canada and the United States. By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
KidPickUp is intended for adults — parents and guardians who are at least 18 years old. Adult account owners create and manage accounts and add the information needed to coordinate pickups. The Service is not designed or intended for children to use directly, and we do not knowingly allow children to create their own accounts.
Account owners are responsible for the accuracy of the information they enter about family members and for ensuring they have the authority to provide information about other adults (such as emergency contacts and helpers).
When an adult creates an account, we collect information such as the account owner's name, email address, and authentication details (see "Sign-In Options" below).
Adult users may enter information to coordinate pickups, including:
KidPickUp does not provide child medical profiles and is not designed to collect or store allergies, medications, diagnoses, blood type, or doctor details. Please do not enter medical or health information in pickup notes, messages, or other free-text fields.
When you use the app, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as device and operating system details, app version, diagnostic and error information, and usage activity (for example, which features are used). See "Analytics" below.
We use the information described above to:
KidPickUp works by letting an account owner share coordination information with people they choose. Approved helpers currently can view the family group's child profiles, emergency contacts, schedules, and coordination data, including pickup notes associated with a child.
Account owners choose which helpers to add and can remove helpers. When you add a helper, you are authorizing them to access the family group information described above. You should add only individuals you trust with this information. When a helper is removed, they no longer retain ongoing access to the family group through the Service.
We use third-party providers to deliver the Service. These providers process information on our behalf, or in connection with functions they provide, to the extent needed for those functions. They include:
Providers' own handling of information is governed by their respective terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information where required by law or legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.
If you choose to use optional AI scheduling features, relevant information — which may include child names, schedules, locations, and helper availability — is processed through Replit and Anthropic to generate scheduling suggestions. This feature is optional, and you can choose not to use it.
We use Vexo to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. This helps us evaluate feature usage and diagnose problems. We do not use this information for targeted advertising.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We share information only as described in this Policy — primarily to operate the Service with the providers listed above and within the family groups you set up.
KidPickUp is operated from British Columbia, Canada, and serves users in Canada and the United States. Some of our service providers process information in the United States or in other countries. As a result, your information may be processed, stored, or accessed in a country other than the one in which you reside, and it may be subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access by government authorities. Where we transfer information for processing, we remain accountable for that information and take reasonable steps intended to protect it consistent with this Policy.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, including access controls, encryption of data in transit, and authentication through the sign-in providers we use.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. This Policy does not represent that any specific field is individually encrypted or that we have obtained any particular security certification or independent audit.
You can delete an individual child's information as well as your account within the Service. When you delete a child or your account, we promptly remove the corresponding active records from our database.
Copies of information may persist for a limited period in our providers' backup systems and where retention is required to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. Such residual copies are subject to deletion in the ordinary course as backups age out or the applicable retention purpose ends.
The Service is used by adults to coordinate care for children, and the information about children in the Service is provided and controlled by the adult account owner. We are not directed to children as users. Account owners can review, update, and delete the child information they have entered at any time through the Service. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly, please contact us so we can address it.
Subject to applicable law in Canada and the United States, you may have rights to:
Many of these actions can be taken directly in the app, including updating your information and deleting a child or your account. You may also contact us using the details below to exercise your rights. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also raise a concern or complaint with us, and you may have the right to contact the relevant privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect indicates that you have reviewed the current version.
