Kid Pickup is a family calendar, and families put appointments on it: the dentist, a checkup, therapy. An appointment like that can say something about a child's health, and some US states, Washington and Nevada among them, have laws about that kind of information. This page says what we do with it. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else.
1. Categories of consumer health data we collect, and why
Kid Pickup doesn't ask about anyone's health. These are the ways information about health can end up in it:
Appointments on the calendar. An event or pickup whose activity is a health appointment, such as Doctor, Dentist, Therapy, Vaccination, Hospital, Physio or Eye doctor, with its day, time, place, the children it's for and any note on it.
Places saved as Medical. The name of the place and the address someone typed.
Anything a family writes or adds that mentions health. A pickup note, a message, a post, a comment, a photo, or a file on a pickup (such as a doctor's note). We ask families not to put diagnoses, medications or allergies in any of these.
We collect and use it only to run your family's calendar:
To show the appointment to the people in your family who can see that event, on the calendar, in the app's lists and in a private calendar link if someone has made one
To send the reminders and notifications about it that the app sends for any event, which can carry the event's name, time and place
If you ask for them, to give the AI features the appointments they need to answer (the Premium assistant reads the coming two weeks; a sentence you type or a schedule you import is read as written)
If you save a home address and are doing a pickup at that place, to estimate the drive there and tell you when to leave
We don't use it for advertising, sell it, build profiles from it, draw conclusions about anyone's health from it, or use it to train AI. We don't collect your device's location, and we don't use geofences.
2. Where it comes from
From you and the other adults in your family, when you add or change something in the app
From a team or school calendar a parent or guardian follows, or a Google calendar they connect and set to "Family", whose events come in with their names, times and places (a Google calendar set to "Busy" brings only the times)
From a schedule, photo, PDF or sentence you ask the app to read
3. Categories we share
The same categories as section 1: an appointment's name, day, time, place, the children's first names and any note, and a Medical place's name and address. We share only what each recipient below needs.
4. Who we share it with
- The people in your family who can see that event, as our Privacy Policy describes. A parent or guardian decides who is in the family and what each helper sees. - Our service providers, who handle it only for us: - Replit, with Neon, which runs our server and database - DigitalOcean, which stores photos and files added to pickups or posts - Expo and Apple, which deliver notifications to phones - Resend, which sends email notifications for people who turn them on - Anthropic, through Replit's AI service, only when you use an AI feature - Google, whose Routes API estimates the drive for leave-by times, only if you save a home address - A calendar service you choose, if you add your private calendar link to one. - Authorities, only where the law requires it.
We have no affiliates. We never sell consumer health data.
5. Your rights, and how to use them
You can ask us to:
Confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data (we never sell it)
See it, with a list of every third party and affiliate we've shared it with, and how to contact them
Delete it. You can delete an appointment or a place yourself in the app. A deleted event is kept 30 days in Recently Deleted, so a parent can put it back, and then removed from our servers. You can also delete your whole account in the app, or ask us. We'll tell our service providers to delete it too. Copies in backups are deleted within 6 months.
Withdraw your consent. Where we rely on your consent to collect or share consumer health data, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us, and we'll stop.
To make a request, contact us (section 7). We'll confirm it's you, usually by writing to the email address on your account, and answer within 45 days. If we need longer, we may take 45 more days and will tell you why. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
If we say no, you can appeal. Reply to our answer, or write to us with "Appeal" in the subject. We'll answer within 45 days and tell you what we decided and why. If we still say no, you can complain to the Washington State Attorney General.
6. Nevada
If you live in Nevada, you have the same rights to confirm, see the list of third parties, delete and stop collection, and we answer within 45 days in the same way. You can also contact the Nevada Attorney General. We don't sell consumer health data.
