What grandparents, sitters and parents can see and do

Parents and guardians see the whole calendar and run the family. Grandparents see the whole week by default and can take pickups on. Nannies, sitters and friends see only open pickups and their own. You can switch any helper between the two on their profile.

Who can do this

Everyone can read this. The owner, parents and guardians can change what a helper sees.

Step by step

  1. Owner: everything, plus deciding what each parent or guardian can do with pickups, and when the “nobody has this yet” nudges come.

  2. Parent or guardian: the whole calendar, the kids, inviting people, emergency contacts and saved places. Pickups as the owner allows.

  3. Grandparent: sees the whole week, and can take pickups on, say no, and mark them done. Can’t add or change pickups.

  4. Nanny, babysitter, friend, neighbour: sees open pickups and their own, and the children on them. Can take pickups on.

  5. To change what a helper sees, open their profile and use the switch: Sees the whole schedule or Sees open pickups and their own.

Good to know

  • Helpers never see the parents’ work hours, or other people’s phone numbers and emails.
  • Everyone sees the emergency contacts, on purpose: the person at the school gate may need them.
  • Only the owner and parents (not guardians) can change the family’s picture.

FAQ

Questions about this

Can the babysitter see our whole schedule?

Not unless you choose. By default a sitter or nanny sees only open pickups and the ones they’ve taken. You can switch them to the whole schedule on their profile.
