How to add a pickup or drop-off
Tap the + at the bottom, then Fill in the form. Choose the children, Drop-off, Pick-up or Both, the date and time, and the location. Turn on Assign to me if it’s yours, or pick someone under Request specific helpers, then tap Create Event. The family gets a notification straight away.
Where to find it
- +
- Fill in the form
- New Event
Who can do this
The family owner, and parents and guardians the owner lets add pickups. On every plan.
Step by step
Tap the + in the bottom bar, then Fill in the form.
Under Select children, tap the child or children.
Under Event type, choose Drop-off, Pick-up or Both.
Pick the Date, then the Time. For Both, set the Drop-off time and Pick-up time.
Under What’s it for?, type the activity or tap Choose for a list of about a hundred, each with its own symbol. It’s optional.
Type the Location. Places you’ve used before are suggested. For Both, tick Pick-up location is different if it is.
Turn on Assign to me if you’re doing it, or tap names under Request specific helpers to ask someone.
Tap Create Event.
What happens next
- Everyone who can see it gets a notification, like “New pickup: Ash added a pickup for Lily on Thu, Oct 23 at 3:15 PM.”
- Anyone you asked by name gets their own notification, “You’ve been assigned: accept or decline”, with I’ll do it and Can’t make it buttons.
- If nobody takes it, the app sends the parents a nudge the day before and on the day.
Good to know
- Create Event stays grey until you’ve chosen a child and a location.
- If a child already has something within an hour, you’ll be asked first. See what “This overlaps” means.
- A new place you type is saved, so next time you can pick it from the list.

Questions about this
Can I ask a specific person to do a pickup?
Yes. Under Request specific helpers, tap their name before you create it. They get a notification asking them to accept or decline, and the pickup stays open until someone says “I’ll do it”.
Can grandparents add pickups?
No. Grandparents, sitters and other helpers can take pickups on, but only the family owner and the parents and guardians the owner allows can add them.
