How to add an event that isn’t a pickup

Tap the + at the bottom, choose Fill in the form, and pick Event under Event type. Choose the children, the day and time, say what it is, choose who to share it with, and tap Add to Calendar. Nobody has to claim an event; everyone it’s shared with gets a reminder.

Where to find it

  1. +
  2. Fill in the form
  3. Event type: Event

Who can do this

The family owner, and parents and guardians who are allowed to add pickups.

Step by step

  1. Tap the + in the bottom bar, then Fill in the form.

  2. Under Select children, tap the child or children it’s for.

  3. Under Event type, tap Event, beside Drop-off, Pick-up and Both.

  4. Choose the Date and Time. Set Repeat if it happens every week.

  5. Fill in What is it? (or tap Choose for a list) and, if you like, Where.

  6. Under Reminders, pick when to remind everyone. 30 minutes is chosen for you.

  7. Under Share with, tap anyone who isn’t a parent or guardian but should see it, like a grandparent or the sitter.

  8. Tap Add to Calendar.

What happens next

  • The family gets a notification that you added it, like “New event · 🦷 Dentist”.
  • Everyone it’s shared with is reminded at the times you chose.
  • When it’s over, open it and tap Mark as done. Any parent or guardian can.

Good to know

  • Parents and guardians always see events. A sitter sees one only when you add them under Share with.
  • Typing a sentence on Home always opens the pickup form. If it’s really an event, tap Event before you save.
  • You can’t change a saved event into a pickup, or a pickup into an event. Delete it and add it again.

FAQ

Questions about this

Does someone have to claim a family event?

No. Events have nothing to claim and are never marked missed. Everyone they’re shared with gets a reminder instead.

Can the sitter see our dentist appointments?

Only if you add them under Share with. Parents and guardians always see events; sitters and grandparents who don’t see the whole calendar see only the ones shared with them.
