How to follow a TeamSnap, GameChanger or school calendar
Open Events, tap Import, then Follow a Team Calendar. Paste the calendar’s webcal:// or https:// address, choose the children, and tap Add calendar. Kid Pickup reads it about once an hour: new dates are added, moved ones are moved, and cancelled ones are called off.
Where to find it
- Events
- Import
- Follow a Team Calendar
Who can do this
Parents and guardians who can add pickups. Up to ten calendars per family.
Step by step
In TeamSnap, GameChanger, your school’s site or Google Calendar, find the link to subscribe to or export the calendar, and copy it.
In Kid Pickup, open Events, tap Import, then Follow a Team Calendar.
Paste the address. Give it a name if you like, like “Soccer”.
Under Who are these for?, choose the children.
Tap Add calendar. You’ll see how many dates were added.
To check for changes straight away, tap Read now on the calendar’s card. To stop following it, tap Remove, then Keep its pickups or Remove the open ones.
What happens next
- The first read adds the dates quietly, without a notification for each.
- When a date moves, the pickup moves with it, and the family is told. Whoever said “I’ll do it” keeps it, and is asked if it still works.
- A game cancelled or taken off the team calendar is called off in Kid Pickup, not deleted, so whoever had it can see why.
Good to know
- It only works one way. A change you make in Kid Pickup stays until the team changes that date again.
- It looks about four months ahead.
