How to use it
- Fill in your child, their grade and teacher, the school, and the time they’re leaving.
- Add the reason, whether they’ll be back today, and who’s collecting them if it isn’t you.
- Print it or save it as a PDF, sign it, and take it to the office in the morning. If your school wants email, copy the text into an email from the address the school has on file.
Schools differ: some refuse phone calls, some take email only, some want it hand-written, and most stop early dismissals before the last bell. Check your handbook. Whoever collects will usually need photo ID and to be on the school’s pickup list.
Questions parents ask
What should an early dismissal note include?
Your child’s full name, grade and teacher, the date and time they’re leaving, the reason, who is collecting them, whether they’ll be back, your phone number and your signature.
Is this free, and is anything stored?
Free, with no sign-up. The note is filled in and printed by your browser; nothing is sent to us.
Can I print a blank early dismissal note?
Yes. Leave the fields empty and print: each empty field prints as a line to write on.
Who’s going at 1:30?
The note gets your child out of class; someone still has to be at the office. In Kid Pickup the appointment is a pickup with one person’s name on it, and the app sends a nudge when nobody has taken it.
